We are aware of the 2025 NYSDEC wetland regulations, and we are prepared to assist you with this new process. This new jurisdictional process will expand the regulatory reach of state wetlands. Additionally, the Environmental Resource Mapper has a new informational wetland layer, which displays wetlands of approximate size and location, and these wetlands may be regulated or non-regulated.
In lieu of the pre-2025 regulatory mapper, the DEC has implemented a case-by-case determination system to review parcels and issue a desktop jurisdictional determination (JD). If a positive parcel JD is issued, a consultant can conduct a field delineation and meet the DEC on-site to verify the wetland boundary.
